The Bible is Clear. So What’s The Problem?

The Bible is clear. So what’s the problem?

Why do we find ourselves walking in disobedience? Do we believe the Words written on the pages of the Book? Do we accept them as coming from God, who created this earth?

The teachings of the Bible are vast and profound. And so it is understandable for one to suggest that the Bible is complicated. However, and I love to use the term - as Christians - because that’s who we are and we have a reputation to uphold, Amen? As Christians, we must get to the stage where the Bible becomes our go to book.

As it stands, many people are challenged when it comes to the Bible, because there are so many different versions, some which may not be too easy to understand.

Many persons in the Christian community are confused by different denominations having different doctrines, there may be conflicting interpretations, cultural differences, and just people holding different perspectives.

And that’s why it’s important for us have open dialogue  on the Bible, sharing the Word and helping one another to better grasp the teachings of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Bible is clear Family. It is not for us to condemn anyone because they don’t fully understand the Bible or who may be living according to their understanding of certain principles.

Ephesians 4:2-3, Amplified version, ”with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining self-control], with patience, bearing with one another in [unselfish] love. Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful].“

Now that doesn’t mean we should encourage people outrightly going against the Word of God, especially as it relates to operating in the church as homosexuals, committing adultery and fornication, going around sowing seeds of discord and the like.

The Bible is clear.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ”Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor (perversely) effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers [whose words are used as weapons to abuse, insult, humiliate, intimidate, or slander], nor swindlers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

For those of us making a serious effort to grasp the clarity of the Bible as we study for ourselves and partake in group sessions at church or on social media, it is for us to encourage one another in the Lord. Amen?!

It’s crucial for all of us to lean on faith. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].“

It is also crucial for all of us to pray for guidance. Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].“

As Christians, we don’t live with our heads buried in the sand, so we know that while the Bible offers clear direction, we all have some experiences that would want to defy every promise in the Word of God.

And so this life calls us to continually reflect on the goodness of God, continuously relying on the Holy Spirit to direct us through these challenging times. And thanks be to God He has never failed us yet! Hallelujah.

So when we hear people talking about the Bible is so complicated, we can boldly say that the Bible is clear, even if we don’t understand everything for ourselves at the moment.

Because truly, while we will not understand everything on this side of heaven, the Bible is clear.

Isaiah 55:8-9 ”“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.“

The key Family, is that we seek to study as much as we can and catch this, live the life, walk the talk, be not only hearers but doers of the Word, let the teachings in Holy Scripture become who we are in our actions.

And the Bible is very clear that as children of God, we should live a life of love, compassion and unity.

Colossians 3:12-17 ”So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper]; bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive. Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others]. Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.“

That is the Word of the Lord.

The Bible is clear, so what’s the problem?

The problem is our unbelief, lack of faith, impatience, wicked hearts, selfish tendencies, lack of focus, you get the picture….

Family, the Bible is clear. It is a lamp guiding our feet and a light guiding our path. Psalm 119:105.

The Bible is clear. Read the scriptures and use it for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage].” 2 Timothy 3:16

That is the Word of the Lord.

The Bible is clear. So what’s the problem? It is our guide as Christians.
