BREAKTHROUGH & FRESH Anointing for Open Doors and God’s Favour

Today, we’re going to reflect on a powerful truth that we can all hold on to: God’s favour is not only available to us, but it can unlock breakthroughs, open doors, and lead us into new levels of blessings and success.

We are saying that God's favour can open doors that no one else can close.

Those of us who have had doors shut in our faces should be saying a loud Amen right about now.

Family, God grants us the best favours and just as it is wrong to be ungrateful when someone helps us, it is even worse when we fail to thank God for His blessings, for He deserves our highest gratitude and praise.

Reading from the New International Version NIV, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us that we must "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

So let’s take a few moments to meditate on this powerful truth and how we can position ourselves to receive God’s favour and experience a breakthrough in our lives.

Psalm 5:12 says: "Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield."

Did you hear that? The psalmist says that God surrounds the righteous with His favour, like a protective shield.

So God’s favour is not something distant, far away, or out of reach. It is meant to be a constant, surrounding presence in our lives as we walk in alignment with His will.

So what is God’s favour?

Favour is God’s divine kindness, approval, and grace toward us. It's an unmerited gift, something we can’t earn and don’t deserve to get, but can receive only by positioning ourselves in faith.

Anybody feel favoured by God today? All of us should be. We are alive and with that comes numerous possibilities.

When God favours someone, He opens doors that others can’t. He is in charge of their progress and provides blessings and success that surpass human understanding. It's His way of showing the world that you belong to Him.

So when people say all manner of evil against you and expect you to fail, and they see you continuing to prosper, it baffles them. Some of them get real vexed and conspire to do you even more harm.

But we thank God for His favour, His stamp of approval on our lives, which allows us to press on in spite of it all. God’s favour, Family, allows us to step into new opportunities, and divine open doors.

And the amazing thing about this is that this favour is not just for a select few. Hallelujah. God’s divine favour is for all those who trust in Him and align with His plans. So you could be a prisoner, a drug addict, a sex offender, or a thief. Once you confess your sins before God and have Him turn your life around, you too can benefit from God’s favour,  just like the believer who continues to walk in the will and way of Almighty God. Hallelujah.

No matter where we are in life, we have to believe that breakthroughs are possible with God's favour. What does breakthrough look like?

For some, it’s a financial miracle. For others, it might be healing, career advancement, or the restoration of relationships. Whatever breakthrough we stand in need of today, know that God's favour can open doors to that. We have to believe it.

I want us to understand today that God has the power to break through any barrier in our lives. No matter what our situation looks like, the breakthrough we are praying for is within reach. Glory to God.

And this is not like depending on any family member, friend, church sister or brother who promises to do you a favour and then change their mind at the drop of a hat. It’s not like someone whom you make a covenant with who easily moves on to the next person because the relationship is rocky.

Family, just like when the walls of Jericho fell down, God is ready to move on our behalf. I don’t know about you, but I am positioning myself, I am ready to receive more of His favour in my life. I need God to clear the path ahead for me in a couple of areas well.

Let’s look at Isaiah 45:2-3, where God promises: "I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name."

God is declaring that He will break through every barrier, every mountain, every gate, and every bar on our behalf. Isn’t that amazing? It is more than we would do for the ones we say we love and more than what they would do for us.

And catch this, God does all of this because He is positioning us for greatness. Now, who doesn’t want to be great or receive great things?

The treasures He has for us are not always seen at first glance, but His favour will bring them into our view.

So how can we position ourselves for favour and breakthrough…

First, live righteously. Psalm 5:12 assures us that God blesses the righteous. This doesn't mean we are perfect, but it does mean we are striving to live according to His will, pursuing righteousness, and walking in obedience.

Second, pray with boldness and faith. We have not because we ask not. Mark 11:24, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” When we approach God, we must do so confidently, believing that He will answer.

Third, maintain a heart of gratitude. When God opens a door for you, don’t hesitate to give Him glory. Don’t take the credit people. Worship God for the favour He has shown you. Gratitude is a must. And guess what, gratitude attracts even more favour and opens the door for new opportunities.

Let’s also remember that favour isn’t just about personal blessings. It is also about opening doors to bless others. As we walk in favour, we become a conduit of God’s goodness, helping others experience His grace as well.

In the story of Esther in the Bible, we see how God’s favour positioned her to not only save her people but to walk in divine opportunity. God favoured Esther not just for her benefit alone; it was to change the course of history. And indeed to provide a model lesson for us today.

So today Family, as we receive God's favour, we are called to step out in boldness and use the opportunities He gives us for His glory.

Remember now, every door that opens in our lives is not just for our individual gain. Rather, these favours and breakthroughs are opportunities for us to be a blessing to others.

Let us keep our hearts open, stay in faith, and watch as God opens new doors in our lives.
