How Big is Your God?

Do you believe that God created the world in six days?

Then how is it we don’t believe that He can provide something as simple as a job for us? Well we say we know God can do anything, God is bigger than all of our problems, God is our Helper and Provider. But in the same breath, we worry about how long we have been trying to get a job and the many doors that have been closed on us.

How is it that when we get ill we don’t believe that God can heal our bodies that He created?

What about those troublesome relationships? Do we believe that God can bring peace out of chaos?

What is the challenge you face today that you are having a difficult time receiving your miracle?

When we reflect on the question, “How big is your God?” it challenges us to examine how much we trust in His power, presence, and promises in our everyday lives. Because God’s bigness isn’t just about His infinite size but about His ability to work in every situation—no matter how small or large.

Jeremiah 32:17 KJV says “Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:”

You know by now that i love nature. Many of my posts on Instagram and Tik Tok for ZJoyVI are clouds, flowers, nature in general. (Plug social media and ask for Followers)

I particularly love sunsets. When you look at the chaging of the day into night and the countless stars, it reminds me of God’s power in creating and sustaining the universe.

This should bring us such assurance that the same God who put the stars in their places also knows the number of hairs on your head.

Luke 12:7 “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

Now think about it. If God can manage the cosmos, the universe, the earth, the world, how much more can He handle your struggles or my problems? Whether it’s a financial challenge, a family issue, or a career decision.

Many of us have children, some have grandchildren and great grandchildren. And even if you are not a biological parent, you might have been exposed to your relatives and so you too can identify with this scenario.

Think of a small child jumping into their parent’s arms at the pool. The child doesn’t measure the depth of the water or their parent’s strength—they simply trust. Dad says jump and they jump.

Well most of them anyway, because there are some shy or scaredy children sometimes. And this is where we have to decide how much we trust our big God.

Because similarly, Family, God calls us to trust Him, knowing He won’t let us fall.

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Now thanks be to God none of us here is hungry and don't have food to eat right? I pray we are all well fed in Jesus Name, so much so that we can help a brother or sister who is in need.

In any event, we know of God's ability to provide for us. Sometimes we may feel that we don't have everything we need and we might be tempted to feel that we are lacking. But deep down we know that's not true because we serve the God who supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory. Amen?“

Philippians 4:19 reassures us: "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

So, consider the simplicity of a meal on your table. Jesus reminds us that God feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field, so how much more will He provide for you?

Matthew 6:26-30: “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?”

Family, when we recognize God’s Hand in our daily provisions, we realize that His bigness extends even to our smallest needs. Hallelujah.

I want to challenge us today to take a moment to think about something in our lives that feels overwhelming.

Now, compare it to the God who created the oceans(Genesis 1:9-10), calmed the storm (Mark 4:39), and raised the dead (John 11:43-44).

Think about that difficult or overwhelming situation in your life again and then ask yourself: Is this too big for Him?

The answer is always a resounding No!

As we go through this new week, Family, let us look for examples of God’s bigness in our lives. Whether it’s the beauty of nature, an unexpected blessing, or a situation where He shows up in a powerful way.

Let these moments strengthen our faith and trust in God.

The question is How big is your God? Let your life reflect the answer!
