Fresh Anointing for Healing and Restoration

How many of us woke up this morning super grateful for life even in spite of serious aches and pains resulting from some health issues you're facing?

I'm sure many hands will go up, heads will be nodding in agreement, and groans will be heard, as we all are either in this position now or dealing with someone in that situation. You are crying out and praying for healing.

Ok so it may not be physical pain, but it may be an emotional wound. You are in a literally painful relationship. Verbal abuse that tugs at your emotional and mental health. You are crying out and praying for restoration.

Then as we should each morning and throughout the day, checking your spiritual temperature. How is your soul? Are we ready for Jesus to come?

I invite us today to Invite the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh anointing for healing and restoration. Why? Because:

1. The Anointing Brings Healing to Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Wounds

James 5:14-15 MSG
"Are you sick? Call the church leaders together to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Master. Believing-prayer will heal you, and Jesus will put you on your feet. And if you’ve sinned, you’ll be forgiven—healed inside and out."

The Bible reassures us Family that the anointing is a powerful tool for healing, encompassing every aspect of a person's life—physical ailments, emotional scars, and spiritual brokenness. This practice, and praying without ceasing, invites God's healing presence to work within us, restoring us completely.

I invite us today to Invite the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh anointing for healing and restoration. Why? Because:

2. Fresh Anointing Revives Broken Relationships and Restores Hope

Psalm 147:3
"He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds."

Family, a fresh anointing not only brings personal healing but also revitalizes relationships that have been torn apart, on life support. God’s restorative power breathes new life into broken bonds, promises, covenants, and renews hope in situations that seem beyond repair. Many times we give up on one another too easily, or maybe we in fact feel we've reached our breaking point, forgetting that we've done far worst in the sight of God, yet He still welcomes us into His Loving Arms. Oh how easily we forget that God's grace and love are ready to mend what has been torn apart.

I invite us today to Invite the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh anointing for healing and restoration. Why? Because:

3. The Holy Spirit Renews Strength for Those Weary or Burdened

Matthew 11:28-30
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly."

Hallelujah glory to God.

The Holy Spirit brings renewal to those who are weary and burdened. We touched on this on Friday - Fresh Anointing to Renew our Strength. Through the anointing of the Holy Ghost, we find rest and restoration, learning to live in the grace or favour and peace or calm that God provides. His presence lifts our burdens and infuses us with new strength to carry on.

And the 4th reason I invite us today to invoke the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh anointing for healing and restoration, is because:

(4). Anointing with Oil Has Been Symbolic of God’s Healing Power Throughout Scripture.

Mark 6:13
"They sent the demons packing, then brought wellness to the sick, anointing their bodies, healing their spirits."

I want to admit here that I need to get into this practice on a serious note. I've done it before, I'm encouraged to do it, again and studying about it now has reaffirmed my belief in its importance.

The act of anointing with oil is a recurring symbol of God’s healing and restorative power in Scripture. It is a tangible reminder of His willingness to intervene in our lives, bringing healing and deliverance from all forms of affliction. And I don't know about you but I have some serious need for the anointing in so many ways.

Psalm 23:5 says "You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing."

Or let's go to The King James version for this one, Psalm 23:5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

In other words, Family the anointing signifies God’s provision and blessing, overflowing in abundance. It rejuvenates and empowers us to face challenges with confidence, knowing we are under His care.

We can also look at Isaiah 61:3 "To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them 'Oaks of Righteousness' planted by God to display his glory."

God's anointing transforms our mourning into joy and our despair into praise. It is a deep exchange that brings beauty, strength, and purpose into our lives, reflecting His glory.

And Jeremiah 30:17 "'As for you, I’ll come with healing, curing the incurable, because they all gave up on you and dismissed you as hopeless—that good-for-nothing Zion.'"

Family, God promises to restore health and heal wounds, even when we get the worst diagnosis from the doctors. His anointing brings healing and restoration for broken relationships. We are reminded today that no situation is beyond His redemptive power. Do we believe? Will we exercise our belief?

Today, we ask God our Father, and we can receive fresh anointing for healing and restoration, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
