Fresh Anointing for Overcoming Temptation and Sin

As I was preparing this exhortation, I toyed with the tense of the title.   I wanted to change it to Fresh Anointing to Overcome Temptation and Sin which is   present tense, grammatically.   This suggests that the anointing is a continuous and currently accessible power or provision for believers. It emphasizes the ongoing and immediate availability of the Holy Spirit's empowerment to help individuals resist temptation and live in freedom from sin. The use of "fresh" further implies a renewal or continual refreshment of this divine enablement.   That is great. But I was convicted to keep it as it was given to me originally, recognizing really that they are both saying the same thing.   The battle of temptation and sin rages on and we will not be able to fully overcome temptation and sin until we are made perfect when Jesus returns.   This is supported in scripture. 1 John 3:2-3: "Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what ...

Fresh Anointing for Healing and Restoration

How many of us woke up this morning super grateful for life even in spite of serious aches and pains resulting from some health issues you're facing? I'm sure many hands will go up, heads will be nodding in agreement, and groans will be heard, as we all are either in this position now or dealing with someone in that situation. You are crying out and praying for healing. Ok so it may not be physical pain, but it may be an emotional wound. You are in a literally painful relationship. Verbal abuse that tugs at your emotional and mental health. You are crying out and praying for restoration. Then as we should each morning and throughout the day, checking your spiritual temperature. How is your soul? Are we ready for Jesus to come? I invite us today to Invite the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh anointing for healing and restoration. Why? Because: 1. The Anointing Brings Healing to Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Wounds James 5:14-15 MSG "Are you sick? Call the church leaders t...

Fresh Anointing to Renew our Strength

Continuing with the theme of fresh anointing, I am led to reassure us further that when we receive that fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit, our strength will be renewed. Just to reiterate: anointing refers to the act of being chosen, consecrated, or empowered by God for a specific purpose. It symbolizes the presence and power of the Holy Spirit upon a person, enabling them to carry out God’s will.   The anointing can also signify being set apart for holy service and receiving divine favour or authority. In the Old Testament, oil was used as a physical sign of consecration.   Exodus 30:22-25 NKJV talks about the oil being prepared to consecrate the tabernacle, its furnishings, and the priests, setting them apart for God’s service.   “Moreover the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Also take for yourself quality spices—five hundred shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much sweet-smelling cinnamon (two hundred and fifty shekels), two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane...

Fresh Anointing to Avoid Falling for The Enemy's Old Tricks

It’s a new year and as Christians we have to ask ourselves some hard and serious questions. For example: why are we not doing more exploits for God and winning more souls? Where is the manifestation of what Jesus said in John 14:12 that the person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things?   And the question I invite us to focus on now is why do we still fall for the old tricks of the enemy? Why is it so easy to doubt the Word of God and succumb to the devil?   For isn’t that what it is when we yield to temptation?! We give Satan access to us. We entertain him.   I encourage myself as I encourage you today, to remember that Jesus has given us power and authority to rebuke the devil. Luke 10:19 KJV: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Family, one thing we know from the encounter in the Garden of Eden to our own personal experiences today...
